So you've just purchased something hand-crafted ...

First things first, thank you for your purchase and for the support you're showing my small business! Buying hand-crafted items from small, independent crafters really helps keep money within the community and helps us reclaim our power against the corporate manufacturing giants.

Please find below everything you need to know about caring for your new treasures. 

Jewellery Care

All items are crafted from a collection of high quality products. The metal options I go between are pure brass, gold plated brass, silver-filled brass or at times rhodium plated brass. All of these options will last you a long time, if generally treated with a little love, care and respect.

This means:

- Don’t wear precious items swimming in the ocean or swimming pools.

- Take off when sleeping or exercising excessively.

- Store in a cool dry place.

- Avoid too much contact with harsh chemicals.

Macrame

 Generally our Macrame pieces are low maintenance but when wearing daily, they can of course pick up dirt, sweat and sometimes absorb moister.
No stress- if this happens to any of your
Tribe & Temple adornments, simply submerge the item for 20-30mins in water with a
tablespoon of bicarb soda + your favourite essential oil if you like. (Optional)

Once you’ve done this, allow them to air dry and then you’re ready to go!

If you have a lighter you can run the flame over the macrame work to reseal the waxed cord and brighten its look as well.

Brass

When it comes to our Brass adornments, they will darken over time and become a more antiqued colour. To bring back their shine simply submerge in a little white vinegar (or Brasso) and let soak for a few minutes. This should help anyways but for extra shine, scrub with a fine steel wool ball or rough brush. 

Plated metals

Our plated charms are the most delicate. These are the ones you want to treat with the most care.

The less you expose your plated charms to water, chemicals or excessive sweat, the longer they will last you.

The minimum life on one of my creations that I have witnessed has been 1 year, and that necklace was worn 24/7 in water, humid weather and daily showers.

So clearly then do last if you want them to!

I’ve also had people wear my same necklaces for multiple years and they’re still going strong.
